This year's educational program is second to none for meetings of this size. We have several of the top speakers in the nation covering a wide variety of topics, including updates on anterior and posterior segment diseases like demodex blepharitis, dry eyes and Sjogrens Syndrome by Dr. Margie Recalde and new treatments for AMD by Dr. Mark Dunbar. We also have several courses on contact lenses and corneal concerns to be presented by Drs. Melissa Barnett and Carl Spear. Drs. Richard Madonna, John McSoley and Rob Wooldridge will be speaking on diagnosis and management of glaucoma, including the latest updates on instrumentation and medical and surgical treatments. How to utilize and interpret OCT findings in glaucoma and retinal diseases will be covered in detail to assist attendees to maximize the value of this technology in their practices. As the primary eye care provider, it is critical that optometrists consider the systemic health of our patients and its impact on their vision and general well-being. To augment our attendees knowledge base on that topic, Dr. Kim Reed will address the impact of obesity and other systemic health issues in our patients and the most important nutritional supplements in their care. Dr. Bruce Onofrey will also review nutriceuticals in eye care along with management of ocular infections and other emergencies. Always a crowd favorite, Dr. John McGreal will review the latest trends in contemporary medicine and give an introduction to the new ICD-10 coding system. This year's congress provides a broad-based educational program to better enable our attendees to provide exceptional care for their patients for many years to come.
