2016 Meaningful Use Attestation OPEN, Ends on 2/28/17

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced that attestation for 2016 Meaningful Use (MU) program year will begin on January 3, 2017 and end on February 28, 2017. Failure to attest by February 28, 2017 will result in reductions to your 2018 Medicare payments.

To prepare for attestation, CMS has released an Attestation Worksheet, a step-by-step guide that helps determine whether your practice has met the 2016 MU requirements.

As a reminder, CMS recently reduced the 2016 MU reporting period for returning participants. Now, all members need only meet the 2016 MU requirements for a continuous 90-day period that falls between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. More information regarding MU requirements and attestation can be found on AOA's Meaningful Use Webpage and CMS' Registration & Attestation Webpage.

For future Meaningful Use and other regulatory updates, please routinely check AOA's Alerts, recalls and updates webpage.
