AOA president on the importance of evidenced-based care

Statement of AOA President Christopher J. Quinn, O.D., on the importance of evidenced-based care:

Together with the state associations, AFOS and AOSA, our AOA is a nationwide force for academic and policy free speech, especially through the 24/7 legislative work we do on Capitol Hill and ongoing collaborations with HHS, CDC and other government agencies.

Right now, in the face of controversy and confusion, the most impactful action any optometry organization or concerned doctor can take is to support the AOA's Evidenced-based Optometry (EBO) Committee and the development of additional evidenced-based clinical practice guidelines

AOA doctors and students across America can be 100 percent certain that the AOA will continue to actively develop, cite, reference and advocate for evidenced-based care.
