Come join the excitement as Washington, D.C., hosts the 120th Annual AOA Congress and 47th Annual AOSA Conference: Optometry's Meeting, June 21-25. This year's meeting offers the unprecedented possibility of earning 36 ½ hours of continuing education (CE) through new, engaging courses; stay up to date on the latest industry advances with 200 vendors in the Exhibit Hall; network with colleagues across more than 100 events; and join AOA's advocacy efforts on The Hill.

This isn't an Optometry's Meeting to miss, especially as the inaugural AOA+, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Vision, on Wednesday, June 21, draws students and newly graduated doctors of optometry nationwide for a unique primer in professional advocacy, career readiness and networking opportunities with optometry's thought leaders.

Opening General Session - 5 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 21

Long recognized for hosting diverse, compelling and internationally renowned keynote speakers and luminaries, Optometry's Meeting proudly welcomes an Olympic icon to the Opening General Session stage whose career spanned the better part of three decades.

Twelve-time Olympic medalist Dara Torres, considered one of the greatest female competitive swimmers of all-time, delivers an inspirational message about pursuing goals, no matter the obstacles in the way. Competing in an unprecedented five Olympic Games, Torres became the oldest swimmer ever to compete in the Olympics during the 2008 Summer Games at the age of 41, and her attempt at the 2012 London Olympics inspired many older athletes to re-enter competition. Torres, named one of the "Top Female Athletes of the Decade" by Sports Illustrated and a 2009 ESPY award winner, also is an author, fitness enthusiast and regular TV personality.

Among the most anticipated events of the year, the Opening General Session, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc., also will feature the 2017 AOA Annual Awards Ceremony and messages from optometric leaders.

A Celebration of Optometry - 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday, June 24

Come and let your hair down at A Celebration of Optometry, sponsored by HOYA, as pop sensation Andy Grammer performs his chart-topping hits, including his triple-platinum anthem, "Honey, I'm Good," and platinum singles, "Keep Your Head Up" and "Fine By Me."

The first male pop star in a decade since John Mayer to reach the Top 10 at Adult Pop Radio on his first two singles, Grammer has taken the music world by storm. His album, "Magazines or Novels," features "Honey, I'm Good," which became one of the best-selling songs of 2015, and the certified gold anthem, "Good to be Alive (Hallelujah)." His current single, "Fresh Eyes," is Top 10 at Adult Pop Radio, and certified gold.

Grammer has made over 30 national TV appearances, and has shared the stage with Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Florence + the Machine and more. He currently is working on his new album, set to debut in 2017.

Join colleagues to recognize the 2017-18 AOA and AOSA Board of Trustees, and expect an evening for the ages to bring Optometry's Meeting to a close.
