At its February 6-8, 2009 Winter meeting in Alexandria, Virginia, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education took the following actions or received the following voluntary withdrawals:

NOTE: The date behind the names of the programs below is the next currently scheduled full evaluation visit.

1. Preacreditation Actions

Classification of “Preliminary Approval” granted following a full evaluation visit:

  • University of the Incarnate Word, School of Optometry, Professional Optometric Degree Program (2010);

2. Initial Accreditation

  • None

3. Continuing Accreditation

Classification of “Accredited” continued following a full evaluation visit:

  • Aran Eye Associates, Residency in Ocular Disease, which is affiliated with Nova Southeastern University, College of Optometry (2015);
  • Center for the Partially Sighted, Residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation, which is affiliated with the Southern California College of Optometry (2015);

  • Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, Professional Optometric Degree Program (2016);
  • Southern California College of Optometry, Residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses (2015);
  • University of Houston College of Optometry, Residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation (2015);
  • University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry, Professional Optometric Degree Program (2016)

Classification of “Accredited with Conditions” raised to “Accredited” following a full evaluation visit:
