The Paraoptometric Resource Center's (PRC) State Relations Program is designed to aid in the development and establishment of state and local paraoptometric associations throughout the country. It may also provide existing associations with ideas for expanding their activities. The program allows for networking opportunities and sharing of "best practices" with other paraoptometric leaders.
The PRC State Relations Program offers:
Quarterly Conference Calls
Calls take place in the evening and provide opportunities for state leaders, or their representatives, to share ideas, learn more about PRC programs and services, share experiences, and provide paraoptometric resources.

Optometry's Meeting®—State Leaders Meeting—Paraoptometric Idea Exchange
The State Leaders meet each year at Optometry's Meeting® in June. The meeting provides an opportunity for face-to-face networking with other state leaders. Contact PRC@aoa.org to request information about attending the meeting.
The Bridgeway Award
Each year the PRC recognizes a state association/section that helps promote the profession of paraoptometry at the state and national levels. States may earn points annually that determine the winner of the award. The winner receives their award at Optometry's Meeting® during the Awards Reception. They receive a plaque recognizing their state's contributions, and an Education Library of staff development materials available through the AOA PRC (an $800 value).
