At its October 31-November 2, 2008 Fall meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education took the following actions:
NOTE: The date behind the names of the programs below is the next currently scheduled full evaluation visit.
1. Preaccreditation Actions
Classification of “Preliminary Approval” granted following a full evaluation visit:
- Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry, Professional Optometric Degree Program (2010);
2. Initial Accreditation
- Illinois College of Optometry, Residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation and Ocular Disease (2015);
- Group Health Cooperative, Residency in Primary Care Optometry, which is affiliated with Southern California College of Optometry (2015);
- Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Residency in Primary Eye Care, which is affiliated with Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry (2015);
- Southern Eye Associates, Residency in Ocular Disease, which is affiliated with Southern College of Optometry (2015);
3. Continuing Accreditation
Classification of “Accredited” continued following a full evaluation visit:

- Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Residency in Primary Care Optometry, which is affiliated with Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry (2015);
