Sports Vision University Education Program

The AOA Sports Vision Section (SVS) is pleased to present the Sports Vision University - hosted by six state affiliates - a four-hour program that consists of two continuing education COPE approved courses.

Who can attend: Optometrists, students of optometry, residents, opticians, paraoptometrics and athletic coaches & trainers.

The program emphasis is on managing the visual performance needs of athletic patients.

The four-hour curriculum includes:

  • Marketing and Building a Sports Vision Practice
  • Enhancing Visual Performance Skills in Athletes
  • Correction and Protection
  • Managing Sports Eye Injuries
Currently, sports vision education has had limited exposure to this area of optometry. Also, most optometrists have limited access to continuing education in sports vision topics. The SVU curriculum will provide attendees the opportunity to receive a comprehensive overview of the many aspects of sports vision in a four-hour course.
