We are very excited to welcome you to AOA’s newest member benefit: a social networking site especially for optometrists called
AOAConnect | Optometry’s Community.
AOAConnect is a place where AOA members, students, volunteers and staff can share information, work collaboratively and build community. If you’re already active in social media, AOAConnect will feel familiar. If you’re new to online communities, know that AOAConnect is a place where you can participate fully in your profession.

Create Your ProfileAfter logging in, your first stop is the “My Connections” link on the left hand side. This is your home page where you will be able to create and edit your profile, upload photos and join groups. Click “Profile” in the center of this column to create and edit your personal profile. |

Find OthersFind your friends and make some new ones by clicking the “Find Others” tab. Use the “Search the Commuity” box to input a specific name, or choose the drop-down box on the left to sort by name or join date. |

Join a GroupOnce you have your profile created, check out some of the groups by clicking the “Groups” tab. Most of the groups are open to all; a few have been created as online advisory committees for AOA. See a group you wish to join? Click “Join this Group” next to the group name. Participate in the conversation by clicking on the “Forum” tab. |

Start a BlogOnce you're comfortable in AOAConnect, we hope you’ll consider starting a blog. Begin by going to the “Blog” link in the column under your profile picture in “My Connections” and follow the prompts. If you’re an established blogger, it’s easy to link your blog to AOAConnect. Once you’re in the “Blog” link, click “Import a Blog” and follow the prompts. |
