Thank you for your interest in joining the American Optometric Association (AOA) and taking an active role in strengthening optometry. As an optometrist residing and practicing in a commonwealth, territory or possession of the United States or in Canada where there is no affiliated association, you are eligible for direct AOA membership as an associate OD international member.
Effective January 1, 2013, the annual dues are a percentage of AOA full annual dues based on the World Bank GNI and the country where the member resides. Canada residents must pay a 5% GST, which is included in the annual dues amount. Annual dues will be prorated for the year joined as determined by the effective date of membership. The effective date of membership is the date the application is signed by the applicant. All dues must be paid in U.S. dollars and must be paid in full at the time application for membership is made. Credit cards are the preferred method of payment.
Use the associate OD membership application to initiate a new associate OD membership, or to reinstate an AOA associate OD membership that has lapsed. NOTE: Current OD associate members should not submit an application for membership renewal. Renewal invoices are issued by AOA in January of each year. Payment of your dues invoice renews your membership for the upcoming year.
