AOA Public Health Programs

InfantSEE®
InfantSEE® is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child's quality of life. Under this program, which will be available in Summer 2005, our member optometrists will provide a comprehensive infant eye assessment within the first year of life as a no cost public health service.
Vision USA™
VISION USA™, started nationwide in 1991, is a program developed by doctors of optometry who are members of the American Optometric Association. VISION USA™ helps the 40 million working uninsured low-income Americans and their families who have no other means of obtaining care by providing basic eye health and vision care services free of charge.
Optometric Disaster Relief Fund
In the wake of the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, the American Optometric Association, through the American Optometric Association Foundation for Science, Education, and Charity (AOAF) (formerly the American Optometric Institute), is embarking on a mission to assist optometrists whose lives and practices have been disrupted by the hurricane. The AOA Foundation has created the Optometric Disaster Relief Fund to provide all optometrists who have experienced the loss of or severe damage to their practice and/or home with immediate financial relief.
