At its October 22-24, 2004 Fall meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education took the following actions:

NOTE: The date behind the names of the programs below is the next currently scheduled full evaluation visit.

  1. Preaccreditation Actions

    • None

  2. Initial Accreditation
    Classification of "Accredited" granted following a full evaluation visit:

    • Lake City VAMC, Residency in Primary Eye Care, affiliated with Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry (2011);
    • White River Junction VAMC, Residency in Primary Care/Ocular Disease, affiliated with New England College of Optometry (2011);


    Classification of “Accredited with Conditions*” granted following a full evaluation visit:

    • Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Residency in Primary Care Optometry, (2006)
    * Subject to Council appeals procedures
  3. Continuing Accreditation

    Classification of "Accredited" continued following a full evaluation visit:

    • Hampton VAMC, Residency in Primary Eye Care, affiliated with The Ohio State University College of Optometry (2011);
    • Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital, Residency in Primary Eye Care/Ocular Disease, affiliated with Southern California College of Optometry (2011);
    • United States Air Force (Wilford Hall Medical Center), Residency in Primary Eye Care, affiliated with University of Houston College of Optometry (2011);
    • VA Connecticut Health Care System, Newington Campus, Residency in Primary Eye Care, affiliated with New England College of Optometry (2011);
    • VA Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Division, Primary Eye Care/Geriatrics Optometry Residency Program, affiliated with Pacific University College of Optometry (2011);
