At its June 21-24, 2006 Annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education took the following actions:

The date behind the names of the programs below is the next currently scheduled full evaluation visit.

Preaccreditation Actions
The following programs were granted candidacy pending status following a unanimous mail ballot:
- John D Dingell Detroit VAMC, Residency in Ocular Disease/Primary Eye Care, which is affiliated with Ferris State University Michigan College of Optometry (2007);
- Philadelphia VA Medical Center, Optometric Residency Program, which is affiliated with Pennsylvania College of Optometry (2007);
- San Diego VAMC, Residency in Primary Care Optometry, which is affiliated with Southern California College of Optometry (2007)
