The goal of the CLCS Research Paper Award is to recognize optometric students and or residents for their contributions in the form of a research paper involving contact lenses, cornea, and/or refractive surgery. The selected research papers will be on a topic chosen by the CLCS, and suitable for publication.
The CLCS Student Research Paper Award was developed by Dr. David Seibel during the 2004-05 year. Optometric students indicated a strong desire to compete for the award.
Each award included:
- One first-place award providing a $2,000 check, round-trip coach airfare and two-nights stay at Optometry’s Meeting™, as well as meal reimbursement, a prestigious plaque, and acknowledgement at the Annual Business Meeting of the CLCS at Optometry’s Meeting™ this coming June in Boston.
- Two “runner-up” award winners received a $1,000 check and certificate.
