Accredited with Conditions

On July 29, 2007, the ACOE’s June 28, 2007 decision to grant the classification of “accredited with conditions” to the Residency in Primary Care Optometry at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, which is affiliated with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, became final. The classification of “Accredited with Conditions” is granted to an educational program with major deficiencies or weaknesses with reference to the standards of accreditation. This classification indicates that the educational effectiveness of the program is in jeopardy. The program was notified of this decision on August 7, 2007. The next evaluation visit to the program is scheduled for March 2008.
