Reginald C. Augustine of Decatur, IL was the 14th president of the American Optometric Association and served three consecutive terms. Mr. Augustine was first elected at the 21st Congress of the Association held June 17-22, 1918 at the Masonic Temple in St. Paul, MN. He was re-elected at the 22nd Congress on July 21-25, 1919 at the Convention Hall in Rochester, NY. Augustine's third and final term as AOA President began at the 23rd Congress held June 14-18, 1920 at the Planters Hotel in St. Louis, MO.
Augustine was active in promoting optometry before and after his terms as president, serving as Chairman of the Publicity Committee and then continuing on the AOA payroll as a traveling spokesman for the Association.
