Part of St. Louis' charm is its many neighborhoods, each offering its own brand of ethic cuisine. The Hill, located in South St. Louis, is acclaimed for its many Italian restaurants. Historic Soulard is known for French Creole food. Plus, it has plenty of down-home pubs. And the Central West End is a cultural melting pot, with foods for every palate: pasta, seafood, vegetarian are just a few specialties. Clayton, a cosmopolitan inner suburb of St. Louis, also boasts many fine dining establishments, including steakhouses, modern fusion, and ethnic favorites.

Grassi's West Italian Deli, an eatery offering casual style eat-in dining as well as carryouts. Sandwiches, salads and pasta are the main fare here. By car, it's one mile or three minutes from the AOA.

Cardwell's at the Plaza, American Nouvelle cuisine served in a formal, elegant dining setting. Duck breast and roasted leg of lamb are the house specialties. To get there, head south on Lindbergh Blvd. to Plaza Frontenac...about two miles from the AOA.
