Description:

Optometric Educators have an amazing opportunity to help mentor and advise our future colleagues throughout their time in a program.  Not all paths through optometry school are smooth and faculty often play a supportive role in various ways.  In addition, faculty have their own pressure and concerns, which can feel overwhelming.  This interactive forum for Optometric Educators is designed to discuss the many mental health challenges that we face, how to discuss these, references that can be made, and ways to help our students (and each other) deal with the mental health challenges that we face on a daily basis.  The goal is that you walk away knowing that you are not alone and that you may have new tools in how to identify areas of concern and recommendations for these areas.
