GO-Myopia Management: One Child at a Time (Translating theory into practice)
Description:
This is dedicated to explaining the clinical approach to the management of myopia based on 3 pillars of intervention: environment, binocular vision and control of the blur. The required clinical tests are developed, and the diagnostic analysis is explained. The measurement of axial length as an optimal measure of myopic progression is demonstrated. In the absence of this data, the other elements to be considered are presented. The management options are reviewed, optically and pharmacologically. Treatment algorithms are proposed in order to structure the clinical approach. The importance of considering individual patient factors is demonstrated.
