Description:

Ophthalmic laser procedures produce results via different laser-tissue interactions. This lecture will review the characteristics of laser light and basic laser physics concepts to promote an understanding of laser-tissue interactions. Special attention will be placed on sublethal photothermal effects associated with selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and photodisruption utilization in peripheral iridotomy (PI) and capsulotomy.
