LP-YAG Laser Procedures
Description:
Ophthalmic YAG laser procedures produce results via photodisruption. This lecture will review the characteristics of laser light and basic laser physics concepts to promote an understanding of the photodisruption interaction. Special attention will be placed on utilization of YAG laser in posterior capsulotomy and peripheral iridotomy (PI). Alternative applications for YAG lasers in ophthalmic care will also be reviewed including anterior capsulotomy, anterior stromal puncture, anterior vitreolysis, suture lysis, and embolysis.
