LV-Do you practice Eyechiatry?: The psychology of vision loss
Description:
The characteristics of loss of vision differ based on the etiologic factors. Often eyecare providers address this based on visual function testing such as Snellen acuity as opposed to assessment of the functional vision. Another consideration is the psychology of vision loss as each patient with subnormal vision copes with loss differently. Eyecare providers and their staff, should be in tuned with the challenges their patients who have various types and severity of vision loss are faced with, to serve them the best.
