LV-Low Vision Rehabilitation Resources for the Pediatric Population
Description:
The identification of congenital and acquired vision loss in the pediatric population is increasing due to increasing awareness and availability of free commercial genetic testing. These children face life-long vision impairment and require vision rehabilitation and resources to continue to remain competitive in school, develop their career, and lead an independent, productive life. Case studies will illustrate the vital roles that a vision rehabilitation team, including low vision optometrists, occupational therapists, orientation/mobility specialists, vision rehabilitation teachers, and others, have on the life of a child with vision impairment.
