Description:

Patient communication is a critical component in patient encounter. The communication flow from the first interaction to the last will have an impact on several practitioner dimensions such as patient adherence, medical errors, and even physician job satisfaction.  One layer of interaction that may be overlooked yet it improves patient doctor and patient staff communication is cultural humility. This presentation will define cultural humility, identify the need for patient centered communication and cultural humility, and how to incorporate both factors in your practice.
