PB-The Opioid Epidemic and Drug Diversion
Description:
This course presents a history of opioids and the series of events which lead to the current opioid epidemic and how it has not resolved. It will also review useful and powerful statistics regarding the use/abuse/prescribing of opioids. It will also present data and figures specific to optometry in prescribing opioids. The lecture reviews drug diversion and its components. Finally it will review some of the measures which are being implemented to reverse the opioid epidemic.
