Description:

Presbyopia is a major pandemic affecting this country.  The Baby Boomers will start turning 65 in 2011, and the number of older people will increase dramatically during the 2010–2030 period.1  Baby Boomers represent the generation with the greatest buying power in the history of our country and account for a dramatic 40% of total consumer demand – even in a recession.  According to Baby Boomers Magazine, 'Find a way to appeal to us through our desire to stay young, act young, think young and feel young.'2  When it comes to multifocal contact lenses and advanced technology IOLs, patients need to see, they want the freedom from glasses, and they are willing to invest in the technology.  As their optometrist, who has known our patients for many years, we are in the best position to make a recommendation to address their lifestyle needs.
