TD-Battle of the Omegas - Comparing Nutritional Strategies in Dry Eye Disease
Description:
This course will provide an in-depth look at the role of omega-3 and omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in the management of Dry Eye Disease to clarify appropriate use of these nutrients in clinical practice. A review of the basic structure and mechanisms of action of PUFAs will be included with results from pertinent omega-3 and omega-6 clinical trials. Based on research findings, an implementation strategy will be presented to optimize benefits from both PUFA families as appropriate to maximize anti-inflammatory actions at the molecular level. Emphasis will be placed on measuring and monitoring omega blood levels and evaluating clinical response.
