Description:

Ocular trauma presents to the optometric practice in acute and subsequent phases.  Preparation to stabilize and treat ocular emergencies will be outlined.  Managing eyelid lacerations with sutures will be discussed for adult and pediatric patients.  Documenting eye and adnexa injuries and determining if these injuries are accidental in nature or can be attributed to abuse will be covered with recommendations to practitioners on best management practices.
