Beeson is employed by Kirk Smithhart, O.D., of Jackson, Mississippi, and has served in a variety of professional capacities in optometry, including technician, optician, special testing technician and insurance clerk. In addition to these duties, Beeson is a geriatric health specialist and serves as a liaison with special needs and geriatric patients.

Throughout her career, Beeson has served as geriatric specialist and activity director for three veterans' homes in Mississippi and has assisted with eye care for bedridden patients at Methodist Rehabilitation Center in Jackson. In addition, she often makes house calls for elderly patients, delivering eyeglasses and performing repairs. Sensitive to the needs and limitations of elderly patients, she ensures the wheelchair-accessible exam room at Dr. Smithhart's practice is fully stocked and ready for patients who need specialized assistance.

Beeson is a 10-year member of the Mississippi Optometric Association (MOA) and has served as vice president of the MOA's Paraoptometric Association since 2012. In November 2014, she was elected president for a two-year term. She is known as one of the first paraoptometrics to show up at every MOA event and offers to help wherever needed.

In addition to her qualifications in health care, Beeson has an associate's degree in music and is a member of the Mississippi Opera Association and cast.
