Jacqueline Bowen, O.D., was elected to the American Optometric Association (AOA) Board of Trustees at the 119th Annual AOA Congress & 46th Annual AOSA Conference: Optometry's Meeting® in July 2016, and subsequently re-elected at the 120th Annual AOA Congress & 47th Annual AOSA Conference: Optometry's Meeting® in June, 2017.

As a member of the AOA Board of Trustees, Dr. Bowen is the liaison trustee to the Coding and Reimbursement Committee, Commission on Ophthalmic Standards, Evidence-Based Optometry Committee, Health Promotions Committee, New Technology Committee, and the Quality Improvement and Registries Committee. Dr. Bowen is also the board liaison to affiliate associations in Arizona, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah, Washington, as well as the Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry.

Dr. Bowen served most recently on the AOA Membership and Volunteer/Member Engagement committees, and was also a member of the Professional Relations Committee, serving as its chair from 2007 to 2010.

Dr. Bowen is a past president of the Colorado Optometric Association, also serving on the COA Board from 1998 to 2005. She is a member of the Northern Colorado Optometric Society and Colorado Optometric Glaucoma Society, and a legislative Keyperson to Colorado. Dr. Bowen was awarded the Colorado Young Optometrist of the Year in 2000 and Colorado Optometrist of the Year in 2012.

She is a graduate of Southern California College of optometry and completed a residency in ocular disease at Omni Eye Specialists in Denver, Colorado. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and continues to be active in her community, serving with numerous civic, faith-based and chorale groups.

Dr. Bowen owns and operates a private practice clinic in Greeley, Colorado.
