Brought to the profession of optometry by AOA and CooperVision ®, the Myopia Collective is a new initiative aimed at rallying the profession of optometry and its allies to interrupt the status quo and realize a new standard of care for children with myopia. We invite you to support our efforts to ensure that children with myopia receive interventions that both correct their vision and slow the progression of their myopia.

A task of this magnitude and importance requires effort from everyone who has a hand in the visual well-being of a child.  That’s why we are inviting everyone within the optometric profession, regardless of their credentials or roles, to become a Member of The Myopia Collective.

Ready to revolutionize the future of myopia care?

Join HERE to become a Memberand count yourself as one of the thousands that have already introduced myopia control efforts in their practices Or you can use this forum to announce your commitment today.  Any individual who believes in the purpose of the Collective is welcome, and we look forward to supporting you, regardless of where you are on this important journey.  Every Member of the Collective will receive access to relevant educational opportunities and resources, and a pathway to help shape what’s to come.

Change Agents

The Collective’s Change Agents, doctors of optometry from every U.S. state and the District of Columbia, will lead the profession in delivering myopia control efforts to patients and advocate for long-term community and policy change that facilitates the mission of the Collective. Change Agents will be part of a movement to shift our nation’s approach to childhood myopia.

Selected Change Agents will have unique access to tools, resources and training to advance your myopia care efforts in your community and amplify advances in care through the profession and advocacy efforts. During your tenure as a Change Agent, you will:

  • Take part in a first-of-its-kind interactive educational workshop that combines the didactic, clinical and practice management elements of myopia management with the skills necessary to proactively engage in legislative and community advocacy
  • Be provided with the support to bring the learnings back into your practices and communities
  • Be showcased so that the entire profession can learn and benefit from your experiences.

The Change Agents application period is closed. Selected 2024 Change Agents will be announced at Optometry’s Meeting® in Nashville.
