AOA Continuing Education Hours
The AOA CE Hours document outlines the standards and approval process for AOA continuing education (CE) and professional development programs offered through AOA events, affiliates, regional affiliates, and ACOE-accredited schools of optometry.
AOA CE Hours expands access to high-quality educational opportunities, including innovative learning formats eligible for CE credit. Developed with input from state leaders, speakers, and professional organizations, the program supports diverse learning environments and promotes professional growth.

Credivera – AOA’s Professional Development & Credit Claiming Platform
AOA is using a new platform called Credivera for tracking completed professional development and earned continuing education (CE).
It has never been easier!
What is Credivera?
Our modern, digital credentialing platform enables you to:
- Easily manage your verifiable credentials
- Securely share credentials with your state board or certifying body
- Track your verification status in real time
The professional development or CE credits earned through AOA EyeLearn, AOA events such as Optometry’s Meeting® or AOA on Capitol Hill, and affiliate events now automatically integrate into your Credivera account for greater trust, convenience, and accessibility.
How to access Credivera
Username & Password: Same as AOA account login
- If the user does not remember one or both of their login credentials or needs help setting up a non-member account, they can contact AOA Member Services for assistance.

Claiming Credit at Optometry’s Meeting®
- Log in to Credivera
- By clicking the Credivera login button, the user will be prompted to log in using their AOA Credentials as outlined in the section above.
- Verify Notifications:
- Once logged in, check under "Notifications" for courses listed as "Incomplete pre-qualification requirement." This indicates your attendance has been verified, but additional steps are required
- Complete Additional Steps:
- Click on the course to view and complete any additional steps needed for validation. Example: a course survey/evaluation needs to be completed.
- Credit Verified:
- After completing the required items, the course status will update to "Valid," confirming that the course credit is posted.
