AOA Payer Advocacy Summit 2021

The AOA Payer Advocacy Summit gathered the the nation’s third party advocates and experts, including state Medicare carrier advisory committee representatives, affiliate volunteers and leadership, and interested stakeholders, in a virtual event to discuss and prepare for emerging payer issues.

Ensuring optometry’s full recognition and fair treatment in the delivery of quality, primary eye health care to all Americans remain core functions of the AOA’s Third Party Center and issues of critical importance that optometry’s advocates.

With the concerted effort that the AOA and our affiliates are putting forth on so many fronts—scope advancement, vision plan advocacy and so much more—now is a critical time to address payer issues and learn best practices from advocates finding success in their states.
