The AOA Practice Growth & Advocacy Conference is a dynamic, multi-faceted event designed to equip attendees with the insights, strategies and connections needed to strengthen practices, elevate patient care and shape the future of optometry.  

This new conference brings together affiliate leadership, state advocacy teams, third-party coordinators and optometrists interested in expanding into new, ocular aesthetics procedures. Through focused continuing education, peer exchange and timely policy discussions, attendees will explore the issues and opportunities driving optometry forward. 

The AOA Practice Growth & Advocacy Conference is built for optometric professionals ready to be at the forefront of what comes next.

What to expect from our schedule? 

The AOA Practice Growth & Advocacy Conference offers multiple session tracks, some occuring concurrently to others, over the course of four days. Take a look at what you can expect from our schedule:

AOA & Affiliate Collaboration Conference | Sept. 16-17

AOA and affiliate staff leaders will convene, Sept. 16-17, for the AOA & Affiliate Collaboration Conference. This session is a working meeting for affiliate executive directors to convene with AOA staff leaders to focus on collaboration, operational efficiencies and more. 

AOA Aesthetics Course | Sept. 16-17

dedicated periocular aesthetics and dry eye workshop, Sept. 16-17, will offer focused education for optometrists interested in expanding into ocular aesthetics procedures for dry eye and related practice growth opportunities. Learn more about the aesthetics and dry eye course.

State Government Relations Center (SGRC) sessions | Sept. 17-18

State advocacy leaders are invited to take a deep dive into the tools, relationships and messaging strategies that help advance optometry’s legislative priorities. SGRC sessions, Sept. 17-18, will explore how to build grassroots energy, craft effective bills, identify strategic sponsors, prepare testimony, engage campaigns and maintain momentum through the final signature. 

Third Party Center (TPC) sessions | Sept. 18-19

Third-party coordinators and affiliate leaders will examine payer strategy, managed care challenges, vision benefit manager accountability, scope implementation and regional coordination. TPC sessions, Sept. 18-19, will focus on payer relationships and advocacy, as well as connect advocacy wins to the reimbursement and regulatory follow-through needed to ensure patients and doctors benefit from progress.
