Free Popup Health Clinics of Alaska

This is a free popup health clinic in Anchorage for the destitute, homeless, and underinsured for one weekend in April. This event will be running free dental health, general health, women's health and general medical examinations which include dental implants, spectacles made on-site and minor surgeries on a first-come/first-served ba The first clinic of this kind ever in Alaska, this is being run by a born-and-raised AOA member optometrist who wanted to follow the AKOA Mission of influencing the future of eye care by ensuring the welfare of Alaskans.

It is viewing patients from 6am to 6pm each day. We have reserved a hotel block at Spring Hill Suites in Anchorage, at Benson and A street. I would be more than welcome to cover for the lodging for any kind of press possible for this rare Alaskan event! This could be an incredible follow-up piece to Lorraine Kee's most recent AOAFocus Nov/Dec article on "Social Determinants of Eye Health", and an amazing chance for local compassion for the community by AOA!
