This course will explore how food and diet can be used as a preventative measure and in conjunction with conventional medical treatment to treat eye diseases or ocular manifestations of systemic diseases. We will discuss how certain foods can protect against and aid in supporting the body's natural defense mechanisms. This course will provide insight into a ‘food as medicine’ approach toward addressing macular degeneration, autoimmune conditions, diabetes and dry eye.
