Virtual AOA on Capitol Hill
The single-largest annual advocacy event and centerpiece of optometry’s federal advocacy efforts, Virtual AOA on Capitol Hill, returns to its digital format, May 23-25, with new priorities that could address the immediate needs of optometry practices nationwide. Despite a virtual pivot in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Virtual AOA on Capitol Hill engaged more doctors, optometry students and paraoptometric staff than ever before—a key reason why the AOA is recognized as one of the most effective, respected advocacy groups in the nation’s capital. Help keep this momentum going into 2021 as we once again make optometry's voice heard on Capitol Hill.
To help support optometry’s advocates in their virtual Hill meetings on May 25, an abbreviated version of Monday’s 2021 Virtual AOA on Capitol Hill General Session is available with key portions edited for your quick reference.
