Accessing the latest optometric research is easier than ever as the AOA’s 2024 ePoster Session delivers two new virtual options for engaging presenters’ work.

The ePoster Session, hosted on the AOA’s EyeLearn Professional Development Hub, promotes the agile circulation of timely, unpublished clinical and scientific research to the optometric community. Engage, collaborate and see where the profession is heading as poster presenters from across the country share their case studies and information—straight to your clinic, practice or home and at your convenience.

“The virtual format allows for a dive into the key points of each topic while maintaining a nice balance of efficiency,” noted Erik Mothersbaugh, O.D., ePoster Session principal moderator and liaison, earlier this year. “I think it’s a great middle ground between reading an abstract on a poster and attending a full CE course on a specific topic.”

Two new options for engaging ePosters

Interested clinicians, academics and optometry students can participate in the 2024 ePoster Session through two, virtual formats:

  1. Live-Virtual. If you enjoy the live and in-the-moment interactions of poster sessions—then this format is for you. Enroll to attend the Live-Virtual ePosters where presenters will showcase their posters in real time and moderators will facilitate an audience question-and-answer opportunity live.

Live-Virtual ePosters will be presented from 3-6 p.m., Thursday, May 30, with the top five posters presented from 5-7 p.m. The top five poster authors will present in 15–20-minute segments in a rapid-fire format. Enroll in the session that works for you:

  2. Recorded-Virtual. If you enjoy poster sessions for all the clinical content and latest research but prefer to engage on your time and at your own pace—then this format is for you. A series of pre-recorded poster presentations will be available on the EyeLearn platform for participants to enroll, watch and engage. Have a question for the presenter? While the course is marked active in the learning management system, participants can email questions to the presenter.

Recorded-Virtual ePosters will be available within EyeLearn on Friday, May 24.
