The AOA is pleased to announce leading AI transformation advisor Tom Lawry will keynote the AOA Experience: Opening Session, supported by Johnson & Johnson, at Optometry’s Meeting® on Wednesday, June 19. Lawry’s keynote opens the four-day meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, where doctors of optometry, paraoptometric staff, optometry students and industry professionals will come together for the profession’s premier annual event.

Tom Lawry at Optometry’s Meeting
A former Microsoft executive who served as National Director for AI for Health and Life Sciences, Lawry is the current managing director of Second Century Tech and has been named one of the most recognized leaders driving change and engagement in health care today, as well as Top 20 AI Voices to Watch in 2023. While at Microsoft, he also served as Director of Worldwide Health and Director of Organizational Performance for the company’s first health incubator. Prior to Microsoft, Tom was a Senior Director at GE Healthcare and the founder of two venture-backed health care software companies.

During his keynote presentation, Lawry will share insights into AI-driven diagnostics and corresponding strategies for personalized treatment planning.
