Thursday, June 21

  • 8-9 a.m. - Choose from one of three free breakfast symposia.
Enjoy breakfast courtesy of industry supporters with either of Alcon's "Alcon Update" or "Ocular Allergy Disease State & Treatment Update," or Shire's "Whose Dry Eye is it Anyway?"

  • 9-10 a.m. - Attend AOA House of Delegates.
Optometry's preeminent assembly of leaders and decision-makers, the House of Delegates is where the profession's movers-and-shakers vote on AOA business matters. Arrive early and witness the traditional fanfare of the opening session, including the parade of flags from each affiliate association. Watch your state delegation in action, helping advance optometry's priorities in the AOA Congress.

  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Attend CE.
Consult the CE schedule to find in-depth, unique and new educational programming, and stay up to date on the latest practice management, technological and clinical advances in the industry. Should you attend "Scleral Lens Application Fitting & Problem Solving" or "Education in the Round: OSD - Managing the Numbers," or any one of a dozen CE courses at this time?

  • 12-1 p.m. - Choose among several free lunch symposia.
Enjoy lunch courtesy of industry supporters with Alcon's "Alcon Update," Allergan's "Allergan: Evolving Strategies for Glaucoma Management," Johnson & Johnson Vision's "JJV: The Future of Contact Lenses for Optometry," or Essilor's "Blue Light: What You Need to Know for the Future of Eyecare." Have paraoptometric staff attending? Make sure they register for the Paraoptometric Awards Luncheon, sponsored by Alcon Vision Care.

  • 1-3:15 p.m. - Attend the Sports and Performance Vision Forum.
Interested in sports and performance vision? Join a panel discussion with recognized leaders in the field and participate in an hour-long, hands-on session with performance vision equipment. • 3-5 p.m. - Visit the Exhibit Hall.
Join the AOA Board of Trustees at 3 p.m. for the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, and be among the first attendees into the Exhibit Hall. Don't miss this opportunity to engage more than 200 exhibitors, face to face, and find everyday solutions that can enhance your practice and assist in providing quality patient care. Don't forget: The Exhibit Hall is only open Thursday and Friday this year with unopposed hours that won't compete with your CE schedule.

  • 5-7 p.m. - Dinner in The Mile High City.
The Colorado Convention Center—and the famed Blue Bear, in case you need to get your bearings—are conveniently located in the heart of Denver with some of the best in local cuisine only a walk or a short cab ride away.
