At its June 16-19, 2010 Annual meeting in Kissimmee, Florida, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education took the following actions:

NOTE: The date behind the names of the programs below is the next currently scheduled full evaluation visit.

  • Preaccreditation Actions

The following program was granted candidacy pending status following review of their self-study:

  • Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Residency in Primary Eye Care With Emphasis in Ocular Disease, which is affiliated with Nova Southeastern University, College of Optometry (2011)

Classification of “Preliminary Approval” continued following a full evaluation visit:

  • University of the Incarnate Word School of Optometry Professional Optometric Degree Program (2011);
  • Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry Professional Optometric Degree Program (2012)

2. Initial Accreditation

  • Group Health Cooperative Tacoma Residency in Primary Care Optometry, which is affiliated with Southern California College of Optometry (2017)
