Recent ACOE Accreditation Actions

November 15, 2013

At its October 18-20, 2013 Fall meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education took the following actions:

NOTE: The date behind the names of the programs below is the next currently scheduled full evaluation visit.

1. Preaccreditation Actions

The following program was granted candidacy pending status following review of its self-study:

  • Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System Residency in Primary Eye Care / Brain Injury Vision Rehabilitation, which is affiliated with University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry (2015);

2. Initial Accreditation

  • Center for Vision Development Optometry Residency in Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy/Neuro-Optometry, which is affiliated with Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University (2021);
  • Erdey Searcy Eye Group Residency in Ocular Disease, which is affiliated with The Ohio State University, College of Optometry (2021);

3. Continuing Accreditation
Classification of "Accredited" continued following a full evaluation visit:

  • Indiana University School of Optometry Residency in Ocular Disease (2021);
  • Minnesota Eye Consultants Residency in Corneal and Refractive Eye Care, which is affiliated with Illinois College of Optometry(2021);
  • Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University Residency in Cornea and Contact Lens (2021);

Classification of "Accredited with Conditions" granted following a full evaluation visit:

  • None

Classification of "Accredited with Conditions" raised to "Accredited" following submission of satisfactory progress report:

  • Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center Residency in Primary Eye Care and Surgical Co-Mgmt with Emphasis in Geriatrics and Ocular Disease, which is affiliated with Pacific University, College of Optometry (2021);

4. Reconsideration of Accreditation Denial

5. Withdrawal of accreditation by ACOE

• None

6. Voluntary withdrawal of accreditation

• None
