Christopher J. Quinn, O.D., has filed for the secretary-treasurer position with the American Optometric Association.
Currently serving as a member of the Finance and Investment committees, Dr. Quinn is the Board of Trustees' liaison to the Council on Research and the Third Party Center. He is also liaison to affiliate associations in Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, in addition to the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University School of Optometry, New England College of Optometry and State University of New York College of Optometry.
Dr. Quinn has served as the liaison trustee to the Advocacy Group Executive Committee, the Community Health Center Committee, the Federal Legislative Action Keyperson Committee, the Federal Relations Committee, the Legislative Action Response Committee, and the Professional Relations Committee.
Previously, Dr. Quinn also served as liaison trustee to the Clinical Care Group, Aviation Vision Committee, Clinical Guidelines Coordinating Committee, Ethics and Values Committee, Eye Safety Committee, Healthy Eyes Healthy People® Committee, Medical Eye Care Committee, Accreditation Council on Optometric Education, and Legislative Defense Fund Project Team.
Active within the AOA for numerous years prior to his board election in 2008, Dr. Quinn served on the Federal Relations Committee and State Government Relations Committee, and was an AOA representative to the American Medical Association's Resource Based Relative Value Update Committee-Healthcare Professions Advisory Committee.
Dr. Quinn, of Middletown, N.J., is a past president of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he serves as adjunct faculty. He is also recognized in that capacity at State University of New York, New England College of Optometry, University of California at Berkeley, and The Ohio State University.
Dr. Quinn has lectured nationwide and internationally, and has published more than 20 articles.
He is the owner and president of Omni Eye Services, an optometric referral center in New Jersey.
