PD-TechX Cornea: Utilizing Technologies to Aid in Diagnosis


The cornea is a clear 550-micron avascular tissue comprised mostly of water, but the breadth of ocular pathology that results from various keratitis scenarios, corneal dystrophies, corneal degenerations, and traumatic cases can be puzzling. There isn't a substitution for a clinical exam, but utilizing advanced corneal diagnostic technologies can be the key to solving the diagnosis puzzle. This course will review corneal technologies including topography, tomography, anterior segment OCT, endothelial cell count, epithelial mapping, and others with a focus on how the technology unwrapped a clinical case. Specific patient scenarios will be discussed to show the value of ordering and reviewing the test.
